  Admittedly, I've only tried two other places in this eastern part of the city for Vietnamese but the other two really didn't impress (over priced and not a lot of food).
  
  This place, however, delivers on the value and quantity front as I paid about $4 less than another place not to far away on St. Laurent and had about 3 times the food.
  
  Admittedly, I'd still give Chinatown the nod for better offerings (more choice and better ingredients) but I would definitely go to Pho Hoan again.
  
  Some additional information:
  - This place can get busy on a work day for lunch.  We grabbed the last empty table at about 12:10 on a Friday.
  - Service was very fast (under 10 minutes waiting for our food).
  - It is part of the strip mall where the McDonald's and Independent Grocer is so you do have parking but parking can fill up depending on the day.
  - They don't bring your bill to you, you have to go up and pay after your meal.
  - Menu has more limited options than Chinatown but so far so good.

  I had lunch at Pho Hoan today and service was at lightning speed, but food was just ok.
  
  I went after the lunchtime rush and arrived at 1:30pm. There were still customers but it wasn't too busy. I was seated right away and given a menu. I felt like 3 minutes later the server came and asked me if I was ready to order. Thankfully I already knew what I wanted and just needed to verify that it was in fact on the menu and it was a price that I was willing to pay for the dish (both affirmative). So I got the Three Meat Vermicelli (beef, chicken and pork) $11.25. I remembered to ask for no bean sprouts and no fish sauce. My meal came out in what seemed like 7 minutes. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes, lol. Talk about a quick lunch! The server was polite and nice enough (although once he brought me my food, he didn't come back, but so is the norm for such eateries).
  
  The vermicelli was nicely done and I got a good amount of lettuce and cucumbers (although the cucumbers were cut too thickly for my liking). I would have liked more carrots. Veggies were fresh. Meat portion was ok, but I couldn't eat most of the pork because it was mostly gristle and fat :( The beef and chicken were good and lean though. The marinade on the meats was flavourful.  Overall, alright but no wow factor for me.
  
  The place is small and only seats 32. You pay at the cash register when you are done. The restaurant is in a strip mall. Lots of free parking.

  I've been going to this place for about 2 years now, the guy that desk is really friendly, and their food is really consistent. Are bubble tea and T8 and T9 is beautifully good. I totally recommend that little moms and Pop Shop.

  This place is really busy with not a lot of places to sit. But the service is fast and good. The portions are large even if you order the small sizes. There is lots of things to order here but I really liked the spring rolls and pho. Prices were good here too.

  It's an unassuming little place with decent soups. The flavours are not the most exciting but they are adequate. I hold back a star only because the sweet and spicy fish sauce is too watered down. If not fussy about spiciness, the food is a great lunch alternative to sandwiches and burgers.
